A traditional hut with hundred-year-old thick wooden benches and tables, a long old teak bar, oil lamps and semi-open bamboo windows and beautiful artworks. Lara Djonggrang bar is chicly primitive, with sweet traditional tunes during the day and sensual lounge music playing in the evening with a brick-walled wine cellar.
- Bale Kokok Pletok Open Dining Hall
A rustic open air space with 15 meter tall thatched ceiling overlooking the ocean, lotus ponds and the tropical landscape, serving fine international, Asian-tinged, oriental and authentic Indonesian cuisine for which Tugu is renown. The name ‘Kokok Pletok’ is derived from the sound that the rooster makes, and the extraordinarily long roof is decorated by a giant Lombok rooster that can be seen from the sea and miles away.

- Waterfalls
The glorious Tiu Pupas Waterfall, tumbling 40m down a semicircular sheer rock face into a deep pool. On the dry season (May-Nov), the water reduces and the pool becomes a muddy pool where the local kids wallow and make mud castle. One hour walk from Tiu Pupas, find the Gangga Waterfall, which is more a trek for adventurous type. Sedang Gile Waterfall is the place where the water comes straight off one of the highest peaks in Southeast Asia. It is considered to provide some of the purest and freshest water in Indonesia. A soft trek for approximately 30-40 minutes, you will find Tiu Kelep Waterfall, where you can rest and swim in the cool waters of the pool.
- A Stroll to Traditional Village
Segentar Village and Senaru Village are Lombok’s most welcoming and interesting traditional village. Braced by cool refreshing air, this area housed about sixty families, it’s laid out on traditional lines with windowless houses in rows and open bale in front of the house. Here you will rewarded with views of Mt. Rinjani to the south and views of the ocean to the west. Once a secluded mountain settlement sheltered from the outside world, this village with its traditional style homes is fast becoming a tourist’s escape from the heat of the coastal regions. Sembalun Lawang is a high, flat-bottomed mountain valley virtually surrounded by hills. It’s said locally that the people from this area are directly descended from the Mapajahit dynasty of Java. Sembalun Bumbung, another attractive village with houses clustered around the local mosque in the shadows of the surrounding mountain.
- Diving & Snorkelling in The Gilis
20 minutes by Tugu Lombok private boats, there are three small, coral-fringed islands, Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan, each with superb clear water, coral reefs and brilliantly coloured fish. The islands have become popular for simple pleasures of sun, snorkeling, diving and socializing.
- Spectacular vistas at the Mount Rinjani
Mount Rinjani is said to be the home of the Goddess Anjani, which represents a spiritual and sacred link to the Sasak people of Lombok as well as the Balinese. Told to many generations, Mount Rinjani was created when monkeys playing with the moon, broke three pieces off and dropped them to earth. One piece became Mount Merapi in Java, one became Bali's Mount Agung and the last one became Mount Rinjani. At 3726 meters, this active volcano with the last eruption in 1995, is the third tallest mountain in Indonesia. As you gain elevation the trail, its opens to spectacular vistas of the ocean and surrounding countryside. At 2900 meters above sea level, the breathtaking views are simply spectacular.
- Golfing in Lombok
For golf enthusiasts, next to Tugu Lombok is Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club, which offers views of Mt. Rinjani in the north-east and the Gili Islands across the bay to the west. The course was masterfully designed by Peter Thompson, Michael Wolveridge & Perrett with a design philosophy deeply respecting the natural on site contours of the land. The 18-hole championship course offers a unique, challenging and world-class experience for golfers of all levels. Another course is Rinjani Country Club, located 30 minutes from Mataram at the foothill of Golong Seadu Narmada.

With several enticing offshores islands, wonderful beaches and bays, totally rural atmosphere, try Lembar and Bangko-Bangko which are legendary among surfers across the world. Every May to September then again in December, this two areas draws hundreds of surfers from as far as Brazil and Hawaii.
