Suji - A relaxing Bali feel though requires some housekeeping.

We are a couple with a teenage daughter who stayed for 9 nights between the 3-13th July 2012. We had the airport pickup which was great considering Suji Bungalows are located between Poppies 1 and Poppies 2 down a couple of laneways. The transport for friends who also stayed at Suji would not drive up the lane and so they had to carry their bags.

We have stayed in Bali a couple of times prior in what is considered the better family hotels. Suji to me had the Bali feel and atmosphere with a nice pool and an open grassed area with palm trees and a large gazebo to catch up with friends. The staff could not be more pleasant. The price was great, the location was excellent so close to all the market stalls, Legian street and eateries. Security boxes were available for use a the front office you just needed to set the combination to your choice.

A continental breakfast was supplied with the option of purchasing additional items from the menu. This was a very basic breakfast but there are many eateries close by if you chose. Now for the bad stuff - we were in the block of white units at the back.

We endured unpleasant smells coming from behind Suji and through our bathroom window. This was on a number of occasiona daily. We burned incense regular to help with this. The bathrooms are tired and dated and the shower tiles had mould on them for the length of our stay. The towells delivered were often stained but clean and had holes in them. There were no additional towells for use in the pool although we just purchased a couple ourselves cheaply. The bedding was clean and very comfortable, the fridge worked well after removing the contents which appeared to be sticky and dated. The television had a number of station available although difficult to watch due to static.

Would I stay there again if travelling to Bali - yes. After visiting another hotel it felt like a rat race with the clanging of plates and cutlery and the crowds where Suji was just so relaxing.
