Villa Surgawi offers 5 comfortable bedrooms with safe deposit box, TV with satellite channel and DVD player. Two spacious double bedrooms and one twin bedroom are located on the ground floor. One of the two double bedrooms has its own en suite bathroom and the second shares the bathroom with the adjoining twin room. The fourth & fifth master suites are located on this floor and both have large walk in wardrobes. The massive master bedroom suite encompasses a 44m2 bedroom, a large air-conditioned bathroom with separate toilet, double basins, bathtub and spacious shower. Both upstairs master bedrooms have bathtubs are set under the windows so you can lift the roman blinds and enjoy both rice paddy and ocean views.
The ground floor of Villa Surgawi houses a guest powder room and a large dining area on opens out onto the verandah, ideal for both indoor and outdoor entertaining. This is complimented by a Bose home stereo system which is piped to all open areas of the villa and controlled remotely making it possible to listen to music poolside but not on the terraces or lounge or many similar combination. The high spec show kitchen is also on the ground floor and designed with a combination of white duco painted and glazed cabinets, tempered glass spashbacks, granite work benches and appliances including oven, stove, extractor hood, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. A separate pantry/storage area adjoins the kitchen. A staff door leads directly to the back of the property allowing staff to enter the kitchen with the minimum of intrusion.
The first floor is home to a spacious air-conditioned media room with distractingly stunning views to the rear over rice fields and volcanoes in the distance - and with sunset views over ocean at the front. There is also a 60m2 roof terrace on the second floor. This is accessed via a stainless steel spiral staircase. From this upper most level you will enjoy the most incredible 180 degree views – from Uluwatu in the south of Bali, all the way up the West coast past the Meridien Hotel. This is THE perfect spot for enjoying Sunset Cocktails! Note: Not recommended for the under 6's. Young children need to be supervised here at ALL times. Netting can be provided to block access to the stairs and swimming pool upon request
All rooms are connected by the wide airy terrace verandah dotted with potted palms. The large verandahs have unpolished terrazzo flooring with an andesit stone border and white painted timber balustrades. Both ground and first levels have slatted sun shades to keep the rooms cool but they also serve to finish off the colonial style of the property. The main area of the upstairs verandah is 6 meters deep. This is THE spot for lounging. Three large deep back antique benches bordering a large coffee table on three sides provide plenty of seating and have endless ocean views.
The entrance to Villa Surgawi is via the parking area, through a huge pivot doorway and onto a timber bridge with a water features. Once over the ornamental pond you find yourself in a large tropical garden, home to many varieties of palms, heloconias and colourful plants like the ginger plants and mango tree. This huge garden is a great place for the kids to run around within sight of slumbering adults. You will also discover several planter chairs with drinks tables for you to relax on, a great place for early morning tea or coffee.
The 18 meter pool is one depth throughout, there is no shallow end for children, however as long as adult supervision and proper flotation devices are used for young swimmers the whole family will enjoy being here. For those who can already swim then the pool is the place where most guests tend to gravitate to and spend their days relaxing either in the Bale or surrounds. The pool also has a sundeck with for sunbeds
The Bale is a large outdoor resting pavilion with no walls. It is equipped with its own set of Bose speakers and a dedicated remote control so you can also listen to totally different music than the rest of the house. There is a dining table and chairs in the Bale, and it is the perfect place to enjoy any meal or just gather with your friends for a few drinks and a game. Beside the Bale is an open shower where you can freshen up before meals or after a relaxing stroll along the beach.
Next to the main house is a large double garage that has been converted into a billiards/pool room, complete with bar. The pool table is a full size with Iwan Simmons felt. It has been handcrafted from recycled teak wood taken from a 300 year old Javanese house. The gracious design gives the room its style and makes it a great place to hang out.
At the rear of the pool room are the staff quarters (two large rooms and a bathroom), staff kitchen, laundry, store room and generator room. The staffs have their own entrance and separate parking area for their motorbikes at the rear so all public spaces are kept clear and guests undisturbed.
The property is built to very high international standards, with some state of the art facilities including Bose server technology with built-in speakers connected to all common areas, broadband internet, Satellite TV and all bedrooms are connected via a PABX telephone system. In addition the villa has a shared tennis court for early morning or late afternoon workouts.
