Bali World Cup Charity Golf Tournament 2012 This "Inter-Nation Charity golf for the needy of the Bukit and Southern Bali” event will be held on Saturday, 19th May 2012 at New Kuta Golf Course. Billed as Bali’s biggest charity event, the competition welcomes players of all levels of experience to raise money for underprivileged people in Bukit and southern Bali.

Teams of five players will tee off in shotgun starts at 07:00 and 13:00 local time, with fabulous prizes on offer such as Mitsubishi cars and free airline tickets. To enter, participants will need to pay a fee of 1.2 million rupiah (£82.40), which covers the cost of cart usage, insurance, refreshments, dinner and entry into various competitions, as well as a charity contribution.

Bali Tango Festival & Masquerade Southeast Asia’s much-awaited annual Tango event will kick-off on May 24 – 27, 2012 at Casa Artista, Bali. This festival features six grandmasters from Buenos Aires. "TANGOBLITZ” recently debuted in Brunei, enjoyed spectacular success in Singapore, and will still travel to Manila and Jakarta before the cast finally reaches Bali for the Grand Finale. This show will be held simultaneously with Annual Masquerade Party when US$100 will be awarded for the "Best Costume” prize.

Bali Emerging Writer Festival The second BEWF is a two-day festival hosted by UWRF as part of its mission of promoting Indonesian writing, and builds upon the resounding success of the first, held last year. The festival will be held at the Serambi Arts ANTIDA in Denpasar. It will bring together thirty of Bali’s promising young talents to engage in dialogue with established Indonesian writers on a range of literary issues, from the creative process to the practicalities of publishing. There are also other activities including panel sessions and performances from the island’s artistes in spoken word, theatre and music. 26th May TEDxUbud TedxUbud will be held at Fivelements on Saturday May 26, 2012, featuring a selection of leading visionaries and storytellers showcasing their ideas worth spreading. Tumpek Wayang Tumpek Wayang is a special day for wayang (leather puppet) and can be seen as birthday celebration for leather puppet. On this sacred day, a set of special offering is presented to to Sanghyang Iswara, Lord of Puppeteers and special homage is given to the leather puppets (wayang). The puppets are taken from their box (keropak), placed in position just as if an actual performance were being given and blessed by the owner. A dalang(puppeteer) will remove all his puppets from storage – as many as 100 of them – and set them all up to receive the offerings.
