Rindik: Omnipresent Sound of Bali
When you arrive in Bali (mostly through Ngurah Rai International Airport), you will likely be welcomed by the soft and soothing sound of rindik. For most of the visitors, the sound of this musical instrument is the first Balinese music they encounter. Singapore W Hotels will open its first property in Indonesia in 2009. W Retreat & Spa Bali
will be the brand’s fourth retreat in the world, W Retreat & Spa-Maldives, which
opened in September 2006, and the impending openings of W Retreat & Spa-Vieques, scheduled
to open in late 2008, and W Retreat & Residences-Koh Samui, scheduled to open in 2009.
The newly built W Retreat & Spa-Bali will be located in the Seminyak in Bali, featuring

This exhibition presents twenty-six hand-picked photographs from 1890 – 1960 by anonymous, curious and amateur photographers, reflecting the obsession with nature, innocence and eroticism at the turn of the 20th century. Maurizio Rosenberg Colorni began his collection of old photographs of Bali in 2003. He has collected hundreds of photographs from private and museum collections in Europe and in Bali. This exhibition is the first in a series as Maurizio Rosenberg Colorni’s collection continues to grow.
