Kelimutu is a volcano, close to the town of Moni in central Flores Island of Indonesia containing three summit crater lakes of varying colors. Tiwu Ata Mbupu (Lake of Old People) is usually blue and is the westernmost of the three lakes. The other two lakes, Tiwu Nuwa Muri Koo Fai (Lake of Young Men and Maidens) and Tiwu Ata Polo (Bewitched or Enchanted Lake) are separated by a shared crater wall and are typically green or red in color, respectively. The lake colors do vary on a periodic basis. Subaqueous fumaroles are the probable cause of active upwelling that occurs at the two eastern lakes.
Upon arrival in Komodo island, walk for 1.5 miles to Banugulung to see the activities of the giant Monitor Lizard 'Komodo Dragon' which was scientifically described in 1912 as VARANUS KOMODOENSIS, which is up to 3 m long and about 150 kg, weight. The total number of these lizards is estimated at 3.500 - 5.000 inhabited in Komodo, Padar and Rinca Island. Return to the based and an opportunity to swim or snorkel on clean and white sandy beaches of Pantai Merah (Pink Beach).
Visiting some villages nearby the city of Waikabubak such as: Puunaga, Tarung and Tabar to see stone graves and traditional houses. Their houses are decorated horns of water buffaloes in front. Then to the local market to see the activities of local people in selling and buying their daily need and hand weaving. Return to hotel for lunch. Then drive to Wanokaka district to visit Waigali and Praigoli villages for traditional houses which decorated by horns of huge water buffaloes in front of it, the oldest stone grave called 'Watu Kajiwa' which believed as their ancestor's boats.
Arriving in Komodo island, we head to the base camp and we continue by hiking for 1.5 miles to Banugulung to see the activities of 'Komodo Dragon', a giant Monitor Lizard around 3 m long and 150 kg, weight. Then we return to the base to swim or snorkel on clean white sand Pantai Merah (Pink Beach) that is also considered as the best spot for under water life and corals (snorkel equipment does not supplied). (Rinca is considered closer to Labuanbajo and has more possibility to see the Komodo dragon
The tour starts after the breakfast at hotel by Kupang city tour that comprises of visiting Kupang Museum to see collection of fossils, anthropological artifacts, 'Ikat' weavings textile, other items which reflect east Nusa Tenggara's different ethnic groups; visiting traditional market to see to see the buying and selling activities of local people for their daily needs and for trading ikat cloths and visiting Lesiana beach to see the traditional process of making sugar palm. After lunch at local restaurant, we will have a 110-km drive to Soe, along the way you can see beautiful panoramas of rice fields, farms, jungles and savanna. There will be a stop at Oebelo, a Rotenese village famous for its unique music instrument called 'Sasando', made from 'lontar' palm leaves.
Arriving in Labuan Bajo, a little town lies at the extreme western part of Flores serves as a base to explore other island, we will drive you to the hotel. Lunch will be served at local restaurant, after that we take you to Batu Cermin Cave – 5 km away from the town. The cave has beautiful stalactites and stalagmites then we go to a local restaurant for coffee or tea while enjoying the sunset and wait for time to have dinner and finally return to hotel for a rest.
