Sights Seeing
Central Lombok
Tetebatu
Tetebatu is located on the foot of Mt. Rinjani. It is a good place to cool off. At night it usually rains and during the day, the climate is perfect to walk around. It is a gorgeous site to scenery walking in the ricefields around Tetebatu.

Monkey Forest
The forest, about 4km walk off the main road, is inhabited by little black monkeys. You need a guide to lead you to the forest, the homestays usually offer this service.

Waterfalls
Air Terjun Jukut and Air Terjun Joben are both situated on the southern slopes of Gunung Rinjani National Park. To access the waterfalls you also need a local guide. You also have to pay entrance tickets.

Masbagik
Masbagik Timur is one of the centers for clay pottery and ceramic production. All sorts of pots can be found here.

Pringgasela
It is the center for traditional weaving. You can find wide selection of cloth with beautiful color here.

North Lombok
Segenter
There is a traditional Sasak village, it is about 1 km west of Sukadana. Here you will find a compound of primitive Sasak village with rows of bamboo plaited houses. When you are lucky enough, a guide with minimum English will take you around this village complex.

Sindang Gile Waterfall
It is like doing sport to see the waterfall because you have to step down stairs tens of traps. Along the way to the waterfall you will hear the sounds of various insects or coming across lizards or small reptiles. There is one big cascade. On the hot sunny day some people shower under this waterfall.

Senaru
It is a starting point to climb up Mt. Rinjani. It is also the first base camp for trekkers of Mt. Rinjani. The view on this village is superb.

Sembalun Lawang & Sembalun Bumbung
The Sembalun are beautiful villages sit on the valley on the eastern side of Mt. Rinjani. The people are traditional. Sembalun Lawang is the base camp for climbers to trek Mt. Rinjani.

Mt. Rinjani
Mt. Rinjani is the second highest mountain in Indonesia. It is 3726 meter high. There is a huge crater containing green lake called Segara Anakan. The lake is 600m below the crater rim, there is a new cone in the center of its curve, which is only a couple of hundred of years old and called Gunung Baru. Both Balinese and Sasaks consider this active volcano sacred. They make pilgrimages to the mountain each year. Mt Rinjani last erupted in 1994.
Do not try to climb the mountain from November to April on the wet season the treks are slippery. There are some starting point to climb the mountain but most trekkers started at Senaru, the other option includes Sembalun Lawang. There are some organized tours in Matram and Senggigi that can arrange the climbing to Mt. Rinjani.

South Lombok
Sukarare
A traditional weaving center. There are some show rooms where you can choose a good range of traditional weaved cloths.

Penunjak
This small town is the center of traditional gerabah pottery. Pots of various sizes can be found here.

Baleka
This village produces baskets, mats and boxes made from natural fibers, such as rattan, grass, palm leaf and bamboo.

Kuta
The Kuta beach on Lombok is unspoiled and uncrowded. There is luxury resort and budget hotels as well nearby the beach. Some hawkers usually sell aggressively when you are relaxing on the beach. The beaches in Kuta areas include Tanjung Aan a fine, white sandy beach or Ekas Bay, the surfing spot.

Aan Cape Beach
Aan Cape Beach is located in a cape on South Lombok coast. The spoiled, beautiful, sandy beach is an ideal place to sunbath.

Mawun Beach
The beach is in the west of Kuta and is situated between two hills. The view on this white, pristine beach is spectacular.

West Lombok
Pura Segara
Located on the beach this Balinese sea temple is about 1 km north of Ampenan.

Mayura Water Palace
The 1744 built palace was once part of Balinese kingdom's royal court on Lombok.
It is on the main road through Cakranegara. There is a large artificial lake with an open-sided pavilion in the center connected to the shoreline by a raised foot path.

Pura Meru
It is situated just opposite to water palace. Pura Meru is the largest temple in Lombok built in 7120 under the patronage of Balinese prince, Anank Agung made Karang of Singosari Kingdom.

Narmada Water Park
It is a miniature of Mt. Rinjani with its crater lake Taman Nermada. Its temple, Pura Kalasa, is still used and the Balinese celebrate Pujawali every year in honor of the god Batara. There are two swimming pools in the grounds that open daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pura Lingsar
The temple, built in 1714, is the holies place on Lombok. It combines the Bali Hindu and Wetu Telu religions in one complex in two separate sections. Between October and December, the Hindus and Wetu Telu make offerings and pray in their own temple.

Suranadi
On the north east of Mataram, Suranadi is a retreat to cool off. There is Suranadi Temple, one of the holiest Hindu temples on Lombok, and Suranadi tourist forest, it is good for short hikes and bird-watching.

Sesaot
A quite market about 5km north east of Suranadi. There are some lovely sites for picnic and you can swim in the river coming straight from Mt. Rinjani.

Gunung Pengsong
Nine kilometers south of Mataram, a Balinese temple is built on the top of a hill. It is an excellent place to view rice fields, volcanoes and the seas. There is very little direct public transport from Sweta

Banyumulek
One of the main pottery centers in Lombok. It is a couple of kilometers west of Sweta-Lembar road. The center specializes in decorated pots and pots with woven fibers.

Senggigi
Senggigi is the busiest tourist area on Lombok with various facilites from budget hotels to internet café. Senggigi has white sandy beach where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset over Lombok straits in the front beach restaurants. By the beach there is also fleet of fishing boats. Compared to Bali, Senggigi Beach is more relaxing and less crowded.

Pura Batu Bolong
The temple is about 5 km north of Ampenan. It nests on the rocky point that protrudes into the sea. Senggigi Beach can be seen from the temple, it's also the best place to watch sunset. Donation is asked if you enter the temple during the day.

Bangko Bangko
On the south west tip of Lombok, Bangko Bangko is a host of natural forest reserve. The beach on the edge of the forest is also an excellent site for surfing.
