Irian Jaya
is the eastern province in Indonesia and covers the
western half of the world's largest island. It is
a land of exceptional natural grandeur, with beautiful
scenic beaches, immense stretches of marshlands, cool
grassy meadows and powerful rivers carving gorges
and funnels through dark and dense forests. The climate
in Irian Jaya is hot and humid.
Irian Jaya
is also culturally rich. The people of Irian Jaya can
be divided into more than 250 subgroups, among them
include Asmat, Manclobo and Dani. The tribes living
in the central highlands still maintain their customs
and traditions. Due to difficult communication different
tribes have linved, for the most part, in isolation.
The
jungle in Irian Jaya is the most impenetrable in the
world and has snow caps covering 5,000 meter-high
mountain peaks. The most populated of Irian Jaya is
Baliem Valley.
The
island is great to be explored. And we have a selection
of hotels for you.
