The Ayung River is located on the east side of Badung regency and is the border line between the Badung regency and the Gianyar regency. Its source is within the mountainaous area of Kintamani and it enters the sea at Padang Galak beach, Sanur.

The Ayung River is the longest and biggest river in Bali. It was on this river that white water rafting was firstly introduced to the island, and it has subsequently become one of Bali's most popular sporting activities for visitors. There are many professional rafting companies that now operate in the Badung area on the west side of the Ayung river, making use of different segments of the river. These include: KUD PETANG company at Br. Buangga, Petang village, Green Antap Valley at Br. Antap, and Bali Adventure Rafting (Bali Adventure Tours) at Br. Sangut, Carangsari village.

The experience of rafting on the Ayung river is very special because besides enjoying the challenge of the actual rafting, the intact natural environment and the views of the valley and jungle are stunning. This is further highlighted by the appearance of wild animals along the rafting route including large bats, black monkeys, magpies and irridescent kingfishers. The rafting conditions here are very safe and amusing, and you will be well looked after by professional companies who conform to international standards and equipment.
