The development of mass media in Bali is quite good. There are two main local newspapers, written in the Indonesian language, The Bali Post and Nusa, while other national newspapers are also well- distributed around the island.

Foreign visitors can easily find English language newspapers, such as The Jakarta Post, Indonesian Observer, Herald Tribune, etc. These are available everywhere, especially in supermarkets, hotel lobbies, bookstores, newspapers & magazine stalls, and you will even find people selling them at road intersections and traffic lights.

There are also a number of tourism newspapers and magazine published in Bali, everything from thin black and white newspapers up to the colorful glossy publications. People in Bali can also enjoy 6 national TV stations, i.e. RCTI, TVRI (central station), TPI, SCTV, Anteve, and Indosiar; as well as the two local TV stations, i.e. TVRI Denpasar station and BaliTV. Most of the television programs are presented in Indonesian, but you also enjoy some programs and movies in English, with Indonesian subtitles.

The two local TV stations are mainly concerned with tourism and culture, so you may gain some useful information by tuning in to some of the broadcasts. There is also a cable TV facility provided by Indovision that presents some well-known world television programs, such as HBO, CNN, Discovery Channel, etc.

Meanwhile there are about 20 local radio stations in Bali. Most of them are presented in Indonesian, some are presented in the Balinese language, and two are broadcast in English.
