This is the familiar phrase that we frequently use in Indonesia to say "hello" to our friends. And it was this same simple hospitality laced with familiarity and warmth that inspired a dynamic young interpreneur, Aryana Maha Husadha, to build this restaurant in the heart of Sanur.
Located just a few minutes walk from the Bali Hyatt Hotel, this staff of this restaurant make the effort to greet you as a personal house guest, and its delicious Balinese food has been voted as the favourite on the wide and varied menu.
This is reflected in offering 'mengibung' to guests. Mengibung is a custom where a group of friends will all sit down together and eat from one big plate. Everyone in the mengibung session must eat and drink until no food or drink remains.
Everyone in the group is equal, colloquial and friendly. The atmosphere of the mengibung session is convivial and full of joy. Although the concept of mengibung is about authentic Balinese foods and drink, the Apa Kabar Restaurant allows you to select your own choice of foods and drinks so that you can fully enjoy mengibung with all of your friends. All can be involved in choosing the different dishes. Another Balinese dish that is available is the Nasi Campur Bali, the most popular Balinese food.
We also recommend that you try the 500 grams of special grilled king prawns with baby lobster. It is a really mouthwatering dish. Moreover, every dish is created from the freshest ingredients. The seafood basket is another well recommended dish.
Actually, despite its name, this restaurant does not specialize in a particular type of cuisine. Many international dishes are available in this restaurant. "We have such a wide variety of guests that we have to be able to serve them in the way that they want. That is only fair." comments the owner, Aryana Maha Husadha.If you decide to come, please note that this restaurant is often full, so you may need to book in advance. There are many regular customers.
