Mercure Resort Sanur - Bali will reopen for business in October after its most its most extensive renovation ever, making it one of the finest internationally managed hotels in Bali’s popular Sanur beach area.
Located just 25 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport, the hotel is tucked into a serene and peaceful corner of Sanur. Small Balinese cottages dot the exotic five-hectare tropical gardens that offer direct access to a stunning white-sand beach with spectacular ocean views. Mercure Resort Sanur - Bali is conveniently located to Ubud’s cultural and art centre, Kuta’s nightlight, Bangli and its rice fields and other popular attractions around the resort island.
After renovation the hotel will offer 176 superior and deluxe rooms, and eight family rooms, each with private terrace or balcony. Bathrooms will be completely redesigned and all furnishings will be replaced to enhance the attractive Balinese influenced design.
The resort’s Balinese grass roof will be replaced to maintain its authenticity and charm.
Both swimming pools and the children’s pool will be converted to modern overflow type format and deck areas will be replaced. The pool bar and restaurant will be updated and given a new theme to complement the area.
A new design will brighten the lobby and adjacent Lobby Lounge and an innovative Check-out Lounge will be added. This will cater to guests who check out early but have several hours before departing to the airport. Shower facilities will be available for those wanting to use the pool facilities or fresh up before the flight, with refreshments and light meal available.
A modern fitness centre and spa will be added with open-air massage huts offering traditional Balinese massage and wellness treatments.
The existing ballroom for up to 500 people will receive new soundproofing and a state-of-the-art audiovisual system and will be divisible into two smaller rooms. A dedicated entrance will be added, as will two breakout rooms featuring windows looking out onto the resort’s lush tropical gardens.
Accor Director of Operations - Indonesia, Gerard Guillouet, said the Mercure Resort Sanur - Bali would be Accor’s second Mercure hotel on Bali, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the recovery of Bali’s tourism industry.
“Bali’s tourism industry has proved resilient and continues to show signs of recovery, both from its traditional long-haul markets in Europe and with intra-regional Asian travellers.
“Accor’s Mercure brand is already well respected in Europe and Australia, as its network expands around the region it will become more familiar to our growing Asian clientele. Mercure branding and its expanded facilities will appeal to families, honeymooners and individual travellers who enjoy Sanur’s quiet surroundings and leisure appeal,” he added.
Accor won the management contract for the hotel and four other key properties owned by leading Indonesian hospitality company, PT Jakarta Setiabudi Internasional Tbk in April this year.
