 O'Sullivan brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to the position. Most recently, he was General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence, which opened in May 2003 and quickly established itself as a leading Hotel in the Region. In its opening year the hotel was voted Hotel of The Year by Gallivanters Guide UK. Prior to Cairo, he was a Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Resort Aviara in Southern California and worked with the opening team in the creation and implementation of several nationally-recognized launch events. During his tenure there, the Resort was recognized as an AAA Four-Diamond Resort and was named one of Condé Nast Traveler magazine's top resorts.
Previously, O'Sullivan served as General Manager for four Forte Meridien Hotels, acting as opening General Manager at the Forte Grand Hotel Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Earlier appointments in the United Kingdom include Forte Crest Gatwick in West Sussex, the historic Forte Grand Castle Hotel in Windsor, and the Bush Hotel Farnham in Surrey. In England, O'Sullivan was also Resident Manager of Post House Guilford in Surrey from 1985 to 1987; Assistant Food and Beverage Manager for Ariel Hotel at Heathrow Airport from 1982 to 1984; and Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at the Post House in Manchester in 1981/82.
A graduate of Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland with a degree in Hotel Management, O'Sullivan also holds a diploma in management studies from Middlesex Business School in England. He has continued his education attending MBA courses at Middlesex Business School and participating in the Executive Development Program at Ashridge College, also in England.
In 1990, O'Sullivan was awarded the Caterer and Hotel Keeper Acorn in the category of "30 Under 30 Most Successful Hoteliers" in the United Kingdom.
As the General Manager of Four Seasons Resorts Bali, John O'Sullivan oversees the operations of Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay and Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan.
