Where to go in East Java
East Java is only a half an hour flight from Denpasar. Or you can make your
journey to the west different by bus. East Java offers something different
from Bali has to offer in terms of tourism. What you can expect from eastern
part of Java is its famous zoo park, Ijen Crater, and Malang city renowned for
fresh air and the fruits. Ijen Crater
Ijen Crater which is the biggest crater lake in Java is situated at Mount Ijen,
32 km to the north west of Banyuwangi. This blue/green crater lake is 200
meter deep and you will smell strong sulfur. While you are relishing the
magnificent Ijen Crater, you can see people mine the solid yellow sulfur and
bring it on the shoulder down to the foothill. Wonosari-Malang
Here you can experience agro-tourism by exploring the tea plantation which
mountains silhouette as the background. It is not only tea plantation that you
can explore but also mini zoo, orchid house, and the pool with warm water in
case you want to swim. Pasir Putih Beach
This is the most famous beach in east java situated in Situbondo area. Pasir
Putih is White Sand in English and it is just matched to the condition of the
beach providing some water sports such as diving and surfing. Pasir Putih
Beach becomes a popular spot as the place to take a rest for the travelers who
want to reach Banyuwangi or from Banyuwangi to central Java. Jatim Park Malang
In Batu city, Malang, there is a popular destination called Jatim Park. This
park occupying 11 hectare land blends very well education and tourism. So it
is good for both adults and children. There are pool, education indoor and
outdoor studio, ethnic gallery to promote Indonesian heritage, and many more.
This park features food booths so you don’t have to go that far if you are
starving. Batu city is also renowned for its fruit products. Surabaya Zoo Park
Kebun Binatang Surabaya (KBS) is one of popular zoo park in Indonesia and had
ever been the most complete zoo park in South East Asia. This zoo park
established in 1916 has been developed and moved for several times. Mount Kelud
Kelud is one of active volcanoes in Indonesia and become a popular destination
for adventurers and those who want to experience eco-tourism. Mount Kelud
which has a new physical condition looks more beautiful since the lava dome is
emerged from the crater.
