Individual Room & Suites
Our unique accommodation allows you to relax completely, the vast amount of space shared by deliberately few guests.
All of the individual rooms and suites exist within the setting of a Residence (Bayugita, Tirta Ening, Tejasuara, Wanakasa and Umabona). Garden Rooms are the most basic category offered. Each suite has one bedroom except the Royal Suite at Umabona which features two bedrooms.
The Estate is pleased to advise on what room is suited to your particular taste and needs (sizes vary, so please refer to detailed floorplans and descriptions relevant to an entire Residence). Whatever option, you get access to your Residence's pools, lounge areas and shaded pavilions.
- Garden Rooms
Garden Rooms are the most basic room category offered. However, they are still highly appointed for they are each part of a Residence. You therefore have access to a shared pool as well as The Residence's lounge and dining areas.
- Terrace Suites
Terrace Suites are also part of a Residence. They are different from Garden Suites because they have a private outdoor area (either a terrace or garden) in addition to access to the Residence's main shared pool and living areas.
- Estate Suites
Estate Suites are located in the Residences and generally have excellent views and more privacy than our Terrace Suites. They also have a larger indoor surface area. Like all rooms and suites in Residences, they have access to the main shared pool, dining and living areas.
- COMO Shambhala Suites
Our COMO Shambhala Suites constitute the principal master suite in each Residence with the highest square footage and most comprehensive amenities, including private jacuzzis.

Entire Recidences
The five Residences, each with four or five suites and a large swimming pool, have been designed by Cheong Yew Kuan to reflect the natural environment and indigenous styles of building.
They are supremely private, situated in clearings in the forest, featuring lounge areas, swimming pools and relaxation areas for escaping the sun.
When booked as a whole, the study room may also be configured as a private treatment room, library or additional bedroom .
- Bayugita
Bayugita (Windsong) is an architectural exercise in simplicity, combining the simple lines of Balinese tradition with details from colonial Java (Victorian antique baths, Venetian and Dutch colonial beds). Cooling breezes move through the interior, comprising a 96sq metre COMO Shambhala Suite with private Jacuzzi, one 80sq metre Terrace Suite, two Garden Rooms and a study, which can be converted into an additional bedroom or used for spa treatments. There is a dramatic infinity-edge pool stretching towards rice fields.
- Tirta Ening
Tirta Ening (Clear Water) is dominated by a 91sq metre principal COMO Shambhala Suite with a Japanese water garden featuring a private waterfall. The entire Residence has a Zen feel. The sound of water can be heard throughout. The dining and living rooms cover some 113 square metres, and are happily shared with guests booked into Tirta Ening’s Estate Suite or two Terrace Suites. There is a central floating pavilion constructed from batu kuning (yellow rock) and teak wood with an ironwood shingled roof, reminiscent of old Javanese homes. Other highlights include stone carvings and Chinese antiques.
- Tejasuara
Tejasuara (Sound of Fire) is a bold, primitive-style Residence, inspired by Sumba (1200 tonnes of stone imported from this island were used in its construction). Detailing includes tribal cloth furnishing, black bamboo beds and thatch roofing. A fire pit burns beside the infinity pool, which overlooks fields of lemongrass. The three Estate Suites are substantial – each 83 square metres, exceeding the 70sq metre COMO Shambhala Suite, which has a private Jacuzzi, outdoor shower, meditation garden, courtyard and pavilion. There is a large communal living and dining room, a deluxe suite and study/extra bedroom.
- Wanakasa
Wanakasa (Forest in the Mist) comprises a master COMO Shambhala Suite with private Jacuzzi, two Terrace Suites, two Garden Rooms and a study/extra bedroom. It is set amongst the trees, the pool’s semi-circular edge echoing the bend of the Ayung River that lies 100 metres below. The main living pavilion is supported by huge columns fashioned from the wide trunks of bingkirai trees. Together with teak floors and the ironwood shingle roofs, it feels like a five-star treehouse. Interiors have a contemporary edge, fashioned from light-speckled tiger bamboo and 150-year-old teak.
- Umabona
Umabona (House of the Earth) boasts The Estate’s grandest accommodation – the Royal Suite at Umabona, comprising two bedrooms, a Jacuzzi, private infinity pool, living room and dining room (308 square metres). In addition, there are Two Terrace Suites and one Garden Room and study all sharing a pool, living and dining room with a wood-fired pizza oven. The aesthetic is inspired by the Majapahit palaces and their formal pleasure gardens.
