Amanusa is located in splendid seclusion, beside the Bali Golf and Country club that leads to the warm Indian Ocean on Baliís southern, volcanically sculptured, verdant green, peninsula.
Amanusa has been designed with a passionate eye, in order to maintain the ethos of Baliís strong spiritual roots and physical beauty, encouraging guests to unwind in peace, in a soothing setting, with suites that have appointed the 21st century with acute subtlety.
Only 15 minutes drive from Denpasar, Baliís international airport, the process of relaxation begins swiftly, while the welcoming Amanusa staff take cares of the Ďseams of timeí. Nearby, the bougainvillea-lined streets of Nusa Dua are dotted with boutiques and memorable restaurants and inspiriting cultural pursuits are only a bike, walk, or chauffeur-driven-minutes from the resort.
As an aid to total convalescence, resident masseuses are on hand, offering Balinese treatments within the comfort and privacy of the guestsí spacious suites.
A smooth manicured golf course, one of the most revered in Asia, separates the resort from the enticing ocean.

Amanusaís design is influenced by ancient Hindu poetry, the surrounding miles of breathtaking views and by the spiritual and naturally peaceful lifestyle. Enclosed in a secluded self-contained retreat, Amanusa is a relaxing microcosm of all things Balinese and seeks to ensure a complete respite from the hectic pace of the world at large. As a result, rooms are spacious, authentically decorated in a soothing palette of browns, beige, cream and honey.
All the 35 thatched-roof suites have wooden four-poster beds, draped in white veils, with detailed attention to the essential ingredients for peaceful sleep. The cavernous bathrooms feature sunken baths with directional lighting, enhancing the foliage alongside. Each suite is enclosed in a sensuous tropical setting and an outdoor shower is built into a high paras-stone wall, seeding soft moss and fragrant white flowers beneath an overhang of ochre and salmon-pink bougainvillea. The walled garden courtyards are private and romantic, offering day and night alfresco dining. Every suite has an outdoor terrace with a comfortable daybed beneath a protective canopy. Elevated walkways link the suites for easy access to the resortís extensive facilities and eight suites have private swimming pools. Wireless broadband connections are available in all suites and public areas.
All suites have round tables for private dining, a sunken indoor bath, outdoor shower, a garden courtyard and a terrace with a spacious canopied daybed.
These suites are identical to Garden Suites with extensive views of the golf course or the ocean.
Eight suites have private swimming pools and a spacious terrace.
The Amanusa Suite enjoys a private swimming pool and the most privileged views of the ocean.
The Terrace offers sweeping views of Bali, embracing the golf course, the Indian Ocean, Nusa Dua and the Bukit, which is Baliís southern peninsula. The Terrace serves Thai and Indonesian cuisines, with the addition of Continental fare during the day. Open only for dinner, The Italian Restaurant offers seating in an elegant room of high ceilings and leaded windows as well as in a romantic outdoor courtyard among flowering frangipani trees, overlooking the pool. Framed by a trellis laden with bougainvillea blossoms, an alternative dining venue is located next to the swimming pool and provides a more informal environment. Here, the dining is alfresco beneath a covered colonnade and lunchtime fare includes sandwiches, salads and traditional Indonesian snacks. The Bar is opposite the Terrace on the same level and offers similar views.
The Beach Club
This is located on the beachfront of the Bali Golf and Country Club. The Club consists of nine bales, each with two sunloungers. Refreshments, light meals, showers and washrooms are provided. The white-sand beach is one of Bali's best and is fringed by a coral reef that provides a safe lagoon for swimming and seasonal water sports. The Beach Club is also the setting for candlelit barbecues, and sunrise breakfasts can be enjoyed in the privacy of the bales.
The Library specialises in books on Indonesian art and culture. A selection of novels, magazines, newspapers, CDs, DVDs and board games, as well as a laptop for Internet access are also available.
Meetings and Events
The resort has meeting facilities for up to 30 people and is a special venue for occasions like weddings, birthdays and family reunions. Amanusa's boardroom is two rooms in one: a conference facility for informal meetings and a reception area for coffee breaks and cocktails. Facilities include direct lines for fax and telephone, a video and laser-disc system, satellite TV and a computer link to the projector and the big screen. For guests wanting a deeper insight into Balinese life and culture, Amanusa will arrange seminars or presentations. Amanusa can assist in arranging corporate tennis or golf tournaments.
Balinese and Indonesian jewellery, indigenous handicrafts, gift items and resort wear are available.
Massage and Beauty Treatments
Amanusa's resident masseuses mix traditional Balinese massage with Swedish massage and acupressure. Massage is available in the privacy of guest' suites, in the specially designated Spa Suite or on one of the Beach bales. Body treatments as well as facials, pedicures and manicures are also available. Amanusa's Reiki master is on hand to redress any energy imbalances and a reflexologist is available once a week.
The large 30m blue pool is bordered by a bougainvillea-covered trellis, flowering frangipani trees and a high paras-stone wall.
Amanusaís two, all-weather tennis courts are floodlit for evening play. Attendants are available as playing partners or ball boys. A bale is located between the courts for shady breaks of iced chrysanthemum tea and other refreshments.
Wireless broadband connections are available in all suites and public areas.
