Alas Kedaton Alas Kedaton or "Holy Forest" is a small forest measuring about 12,00 ha. In this forest is an old temple and to the south East of the temple is small field called the Monkey Cemetery but so far the truth of the story has never been confirmed. There are hundreds of monkeys in this forest and high up on the big trees many bats are hanging and singing with their loud voices.
Tabanan Tabanan has its roots in the 14th century when Javanese invaders settled in the area. As they expanded their territory, they came into conflict with the Mengwi house, founded during the mid 1600s with the fall of Gelgel and allied with Buleleng. In the 18th century Mengwi was the 2nd most powerful royal house after Klungkung.
Jatiluwih Approximately 20 Kms from Tabanan town to the North, the road climbs up high into the hills a small village name Jatiluwih, at a height of 850 meters above sea level. The view here is one of the finest imaginable Balis terarace paddy fields stretch in endless contours over hills and valleys as far as the eye can see.
Bedugul In the Eastern high lands of Bali is the serene mountain area of Bedugul, where vegetable, fruits and flowers thrive in the alpine climate and a colourful little market at Candikuning. Offers a wide selection of produce including exotic strawberries here there are many hotels and restaurants and a botanical garden "Kebun Raya".
