The highest peak in Sumatra with the height of 3.805 m above the sea level, and as one the highest volcano in Indonesia that still active. Its crater is about 500 x 600 m wide and its water that light green and ivory colored.

The lowest temperature at the peak is 5�C. At the independent day of the Republic of Indonesia (17th August) the mountain are visited by many mountain climbers from anywhere. To reach the peak 8 to 10 hours are needed there are four shelters.

Form the peak we can see an astonishing landscape. The way to mount Kerinci is through a village called Kersik Tuo (Kayu Aro) about 49 km from City Sungai Penuh.
