To get to Lampung from Jakarta, it only takes about 40 minutes by plane. Alternatively, if traveling by land and sea, it takes about 7 hours and involves crossing the Sunda Strait, passing through the very beautiful and scenic area close to Krakatau.

Ferries operate back and forth between the Merak Ferry port to Bakauheni port. Traveling by land along the edge of the hilly trans-Sumatra highway is an exciting experience offering more beautiful scenery.

Bandar Lampung, the capital city of Lampung Province, is a transit city that connects Java and all of the provinces of Sumatra. Buses operate regular services and taxis are available to take you around the city.
