Please experience the real atmosphere of bargaining in the style of Balinese traditional market. Just go down to the Badung Market at Gajah Mada street. You’ll find great fresh range of vegetables, fruits, meat and some other kitchen’s needs.
If you really wish for the hottest moment to get the freshest goods, just come very early in the morning. At about 2 am the market is already crowded of sellers preparing their fresh items to sell at the stalls. A number of pick- up cars and mini trucks are seen rowing, while some persons are supplying the items from the cars to the stalls.
Supermarkets are mushrooming in Denpasar, but for most of people, they would rather go to the Badung market, where as they really want to get such fresh products at the very reasonable prices. In addition, during the great Hindu’s celebrations, such as: Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi, and others, the Badung market becomes the most chosen site to shop around for finding the best quality of offerings materials, such as: young coconut leaves, flowers, fruits, and many more. The prices of some items are going higher at those certain moments but it still much cheaper than at the supermarkets, while the quality of the products of the two kinds of sites are very competitive.
