The Province of Bali is divided into 9 Regencies, i.e. Badung, Gianyar, Klungkung, Bangli Buleleng, Karangasem, Jembrana, Tabanan; and Denpasar Municipality as the capital city of the province.
Every regency has its own capital city, i.e. Badung regency with Badung city, Gianyar regency with Gianyar city, Klungkung regency with Semarapura (Klungkung) city, Bangli regency with Bangli city, Buleleng regency with Singaraja city, Karangasem regency with Amlapura city, Jembrana regency with Negara city and Tabanan regency with Tabanan city.
Every regency is headed by a regent, except Denpasar that headed by a major. Each regency and the municipality consist of a number of district, in which the districts are structurally divided into villages. Every village in Bali comprises some Banjars (traditional neighborhood organization) that play very important roles in every single aspect of the Balinese people daily life.
