Mount Bromo is one of East Java’s ultimate attractions. The splendor panorama of Mount Bromo is the best to view from Mount Pananjakan. With 2774 m height, Pananjakan is the highest peak in Tengger mountains area.

Beside of the exciting rituals, like Kasada, Karo, Unan-unan, Entas-entas, Purnomo Tilem, and many more, the daily life of the people who inhabit the mountains area is definitely another necessary attraction of this site. The Tengger people’s communal self-help as well as their persistence in beating up the rough nature are amazing. All of them are farmers planting various vegetables plantations.

Mount Bromo situated around 95 km from Surabaya. Those who want to view the beauty of this mountain may come through Pasuruan. Along the way to the mountain, visitors can view fabulous panorama within cool atmosphere.

You can also reach the Mount Bromo area from Malang district, passing through Tumpang sub-district, going east to Poncokusumo sub-district, and to Ngadas Village which is situated around 12 km from Coban Pelangi waterfall. Then you have to go for around 3 km to reach the Jemplang crossroad. Here, you will witness the grandeur of Almighty God who has created the very magnificent scenery. The area of Bromo national park Tengger-Semeru is a protected forest that seems so interesting for nature lovers.

During the Kasada ceremony, Tengger people flock in the area, though that they have to pass such fairly far distance to reach the ritual area. They hike the savanna and the sea of sand.
