Pesarean Gunung (Mount) Kawi is a pilgrimage area to commemorate the late Mbah Soedjono who was buried in this area. At first, only the families of the late Mbah Soedjono who regularly visit the burial ground. But, then visitors come from various areas to make the devotional visit to the area.

The late Mbah Imam Soedjono is one of the 70 aristocrats who bravely struggled to cast away the colonials. He was died on 1876. Led by Pangeran Diponegoro, these aristocrats fought for their land independence in the year of 1825-1830

Celebration and shadow puppets show usually cheer u the event in Mount Kawi graveyard. Such similar celebration is also carried out 5 weeks later. The pilgrimage activities is carried out on 12th Sura day (based on Saka calendar system) before 16.00pm, while the celebration is usually held at 19.00pm.

Other tourism attractions in this area are the Maulid and labuhan ceremonies. Visitors who come to this place can buy various souvenirs made of iron, wood, bamboo, rattan and many more. Various accommodations and public facilities are also available in this area.
