Breakfast was very good and had some nice Balinese as well as European and American options. However I highly recommend the Komaneka muesli..so fresh:) The afternoon Balinese tea was great too; the cakes were always so fresh and tasty; something different to our typical afternoon tea back home. Dinner was also great, however the highlight dinner for us was the in-room red light dinner-please do not miss out on having it once while you are there!! The staff decorated every bit possible of our pool area with candles and flowers and typical Balinese floral arrangements. It was magical-such a wonderful way to celebrate the night of our wedding anniversary! The Balinese menu was mouth-watering-do try the typical roast pork and duck.
The staff everywhere in the resort-from the managment, to the reception staff, to the cleaning staff to the waiters, they are amazing; everyone is ready to chat with you-they are all so polite yet friendly and discreet. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone-the staff truly make the hotel special-we felt at home all the time from the moment we had arrived till the end-keep it up.
I also recommend the spa since they have some very good Balinese messages to offer, though not cheap they are worth trying at least once while you are there.
The hotel is a beauty to be cherished; take the time to explore it and spend time in the main pool area since it does offer spectacular views of the valley. I also recommend you take some of the hotel activites on offer-we tried the Balinese wood carving among others and it was nice to learn the art of wood carving.
In one sentence I would say this hotel is out of this world and we would stay time and time again if we could!
Room Tip: Do go for the valley view pool villa-worth the extra money you pay!!
