Our family was after Novotel hotel, but it was fully booked. So with the budget for 2 rooms in Novotel, we could get a bungalow in front of the swimming pool in Bintang Senggigi hotel. This hotel was not located at the heart of Senggigi. You need another 5 minutes drive to the centre of Senggigi. And so the good thing was the area was quite peaceful, and the beach area could be all yours at times. In front of the hotel were some local small restaurants & a few pubs. Sunset was clearly visible from the beach area, but not from the rooms. There were locked gates before the beach (opened during the day). Sellers/outsiders were not allowed to enter the gates. The swimming pool was better used during the day because it didn't have pool lights for the night. Nothing fancy about the rooms; pretty comfy. The breakfast was not as special as 5 stars hotels; pretty pleasant for the tummy. I found that the breakfast buffet menus were more suitable for the locals, but i reckon they would still be nice for foreigners who are looking for some local food. We were able to bring Durian into the hotel area, but not to be eaten inside the rooms of course. Anyway, the hotel met our needs and was pleasant to rest in after a day full of touring activities.
