“Paradise above and below water”

Do not miss this. If you have ANY interest in diving and/or snorkeling, put this on your bucket list. The resort is located on one corner of a remote island in Indonesia - at maximum capacity, there are still only 62 of you there, and you have the most stunning reefs and varied aquatic wildlife all to yourselves. The feeling of exclusivity is priceless.

Take the resort tour that is offered to you. Brian, the manager, explains the fascinating story behind the place and the work that has gone in over 20 years to create what you see today - with it's own landing strip! We were lucky enough to meet a couple of the owners and their lovely children during our stay. They made time to add a very personal touch to the hospitality offered. It was genuine and exceptional.

We stayed in Garden bungalows 12 and 13 - the most affordable of the 3 options of accommodation and we were very comfortable and happy. Spacious clean rooms, good air conditioning, endless hot water, an excellent shower and a very comfortable bed.

The buffet style meals in the restaurant were fabulous and varied, given the limitations of where we were. Every course of food was delicious, nutritous and satisfying - don't miss the tempura! To be greeted with a smile and by name at each meal was a delight. Ibram heads up a great and efficient team and Adhi had everyone laughing every day. The service was second to none, they pride themselves on doing anything they can for you. Nothing was too much trouble.

The natural beauty of this place was breath-taking. My husband and I have just come back to diving after a long break. We dived in the Red Sea, the Maldives, Australia, Fiji, New Zealand and the Galapagos back in the 1990s. Our teenagers did their first open water dives on this holiday - we might have set their standards a little high! It was a joy to see beautiful, healthy coral reefs and an abundance of fish, rays and turtles. The house reef must not be missed - a great option for divers or snorkelers.

Once again, with the boat trips, 5 star service prevails. The dive staff and boat crew were all amazing. Everything is well organized (thank you Mo!) and clearly planned for your comfort and safety. You can do as much or as little as you like. It was nice to remind ourselves that we could 'take a break' from the diving and sunbathe, snorkel the house reef or go paddle boarding. I can highly recommend the wonderful 90 minute Balinese massage too!

Last but not least, all credit to Harvey, our wonderful dive guide. He was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He was also patient and adaptable - he very kindly did a dive with me on my own on the house reef just to help me get my confidence back - much appreciated.
