Kuta is the most popular tourist resort area on the island of Bali. Kuta stretches along the beachfront all the way from the airport to Legian, and small lanes lead from the beaches into the densely populated hotel and tourism facilities. The five km long sandy stretch of Kuta is arguably the best beach front in Bali. The beach is safe, partially clean, well-maintained, although the beach vendors sometimes can be annoying. Kuta has not just the highest concentration of tourism facilities but also literally filled with various Kuta hotels and accommodations in all sizes.

There are vast choices of hotel in Kuta, mostly budget and mid-range hotel. Private villas in Kuta are few. Cheap Kuta hotels can be found in on Poppies II, but you can often find nicer Kuta hotels on the small lanes between Poppies I and II. Medium budget Kuta hotels can be found along Jalan Pantai Kuta, Jalan Legian, Jalan Benesari and Jalan Melasti. Splurge Kuta Hotels are concentrated in Jalan Pantai Kuta, jalan Kartika Plaza and Jalan Wana Segara. Recently there are many small minimalist style hotels can be found in Jalan Raya Kuta.

Kuta is a major transport hub and is well connected to the rest of island via a bemo and shuttle bus network. Legian and Seminyak are both within walking distance from Kuta, Ngurah Rai International Airport is just 15-minute drive away and the cultural heart of Bali in Ubud is just 45-minute drive.
